Services I offer

I believe I have the essential ingredients to make every ceremony I create a happy and enjoyable one.

When you engage a civil celebrant, you are permitted a wide selection of choices including -

  • choice of location
  • choice of material – words, music, readings and vows - except for what is required by law to be said during a marriage ceremony
  • choice of day and time (advisable to book at least a few months in advance so your choices are not limited)

I can also provide -

  • a rich resource library of poetry, readings, vows and music;
  • lectern;
  • portable PA system;
  • background music;  brought to you by my invaluable 2IC and right hand man, Max
  • couples invariably have some music/lyrics they consider “our song” – if so, we would be happy to play it if you provide us with the CDs

Requirements and services included -

  • first meeting during which I confirm my fee and terms and conditions for what it is you wish to celebrate
  • fact gathering regarding all aspects of each ceremony and participants
  • in the case of marriage ceremonies, if you have been previously validly married, I will need to sight a divorce or death certificate relating to your most recent former spouse
  • both respondents to a marriage need to provide their original birth certificates – in extenuating circumstances, a Commonwealth Statutory Declaration may need to be sworn to
  • completion of mandatory paperwork pertaining to wedding ceremonies
  • it would be wise to establish if any permits will be required for outdoor public parks/venues
  • writing scripts and forwarding drafts for your approval
  • researching appropriate readings and vows to incorporate (I encourage couples to write their own vows if they wish)
  • lodgment of documents for registration with the  Registry of BDM following my officiating at your wedding ceremony
  • written request to BDM if you wish them to forward their official marriage certificate(s) to you ($37.00 and $50.00 for certified  and commemorative packages respectively)
  • familiarization visit to your chosen venue to establish positioning, etc. and any other procedure you wish me to clarify
  • presentation certificates and copies of all scripts I devise and deliver for each ceremony will be presented to you following your particular ceremony
  • for respondents to a marriage who do not speak or write English, an official translator/interpreter will be required to be present;   as would be the case if one or both respondents could not hear or speak – an approved sign language person would be required to be present

Respondents to a marriage to an Australian citizen who are not Australian citizens themselves are not automatically entitled to residency following a wedding ceremony here in Australia.   Celebrants are not permitted to give advice regarding immigration matters and will direct you to seek the advice of appropriate professionals who will be able to advise you of the correct steps to take to enhance your chances of being able to stay in Australia for as long as legally possible and ultimately gain residency here in this beautiful country.
