BEVERLEY TRAVIS

Your experienced local Civil Marriage Celebrant in south-east Queensland

A CELEBRANT FOR ALL SEASONS AND REASONS

For those of you who are contemplating marriage, you will be required to produce birth certificates or equivalent necessary evidence to verify your identity as well as, in the case of a  former spouse, either a divorce certificate or a death certificate.    If you have any queries regarding sourcing documents, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will endeavour to point you in the right direction or advise you to seek legal counsel.  Under no circumstances can two people under 18 years of age marry.   One respondent to the marriage must be over 18 years and the other must have attained 16 years of age and have parental or guardian approval in writing as well as a court order from a judge or magistrate.  However, the following should initially inform the majority of Queensland respondents.   Births, Deaths and Marriages are able to provide birth certificates.   There are registries in each state and territory.  If you do not have your birth certificate, then you will need to obtain one from the registry in the state or territory in which you were born.   The same thing applies to death certificates.  Divorce certificates can be sourced through the Family Court of Australia in the state or territory in which you were divorced.
